Bangkok is the capital city of Thailand and is the one of the largest cities in Southeast Asian area. Bangkok is located in the middle of Thailand. And is full of vigor everyday as the center of it's culture, commerce, information and fashion. The Kingdom of Thailand, it's royal palaces are located in Bangkok, too.
Almost all of the tourists coming to Thailand chose to visit Bangkok and experience many faces; crowds of people, famous traffic jams, exciting and somehow naughty nightlife, reasonable shopping, world class hospitality- kingdom of smiles, exotic and oriental asian products, spicy Thai food and etc. As I mentioned, Bangkok has been attractive tourist both inside Thailand and abroad.
The capital city Bangkok, it's often called "the city of Angel" and " the city of smile". Bangkok is named after the tree Spondias magnifera. Bangkok is famous its name worldwidely but it is used mainly by foreigner. Local thai people call it Krungthep in Thai. Actually Kruntep is shortened it's full name. Krungtheep's full name is [Krung Thep Mahanakhon Amon Rattanakosin Mahinthara Yuthaya Mahadilok Phop Noppharat Ratchathani Burirom Udomratchaniwet Mahasathan Amon Piman Awatan Sathit Sakkathattiya Witsanukam Prasit]. Local school children are taught the full name with its song, although few can explain its meaning because many of the words are archaic. The name Krungthep is given the name when the capital established at the 18th century.

BTS Sky Trains BTS sky trains ply along Sukhumvit, Silom and Phahonyothin roads. The routes connect Bangkoks leading hotels and major shopping areas such as Siam Square, Silom, Ratchaprasong and Chatuchak Weekend Market. The fare ranges from 10-40 baht according to the distance. Boat Taxis that are even more unusual, though equally convenient, are the river taxis that ply the Chao Phraya River. Some are just cross river ferries, but others serve the many landing stages on both banks and cover a route that goes up as far as the northern suburb of Nonthaburi.
